apropos of nothing
It's not directly related to Biblical literature, but the current issue of Time magazine http://www.time.com/time/ has a cover story entitled "Does God Want You to be Rich?" According to a summary I read of the article, the signature verse could be John 10:10: "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
You can't read the whole article online without paying to subscribe; however, I assume our library has the issue.

This seems a good counter verse to the one they used:
"No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." -Matthew 6:24
I don't know what the article said either, but figured to throw that out.
